Envision Certification

Envision Certification assesses the sustainability of infrastructure projects, providing project owners with a framework to integrate sustainable innovations during design and construction phases. Like LEED for buildings, Envision Certification recognizes infrastructure projects that achieve sustainability goals. Envision Sustainability Professionals guide project teams through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s Envision Verification Process, ensuring adherence to best practices in sustainability.

Benefits of Envision Certification for Infrastructure Projects:

  • Enhanced long-term viability through increased resilience and preparedness

  • Cost savings through efficient management and stakeholder collaboration

  • Minimized environmental and community impact

  • Operational cost reductions through improved resource efficiency

  • Credibility from a trusted third-party rating system

  • Increased public trust and engagement in project decision-making

Green Globes Project Administration

Green Globes offers a tailored approach to sustainability, providing detailed support for project-specific improvements. Recognizing that building owners and facility managers have unique insights into their properties, the Green Globes standard respects and utilizes that expertise to promote best practices in sustainable design, construction, and operations. By engaging Two Trails as third-party assessors, we create a collaborative certification process that highlights the skills of experienced green building teams and eases the journey for those new to sustainable practices.

Green Globes Certification Benefits:

  • Lower operating costs

  • Access to tax incentives and utility rebates

  • Compliance with government regulations

  • Enhanced employee attraction and retention

  • Increased property marketability

Energy Star Project Administration

ENERGY STAR Certification signifies that a building performs in the top 25% of similar facilities nationwide. Once approved by the EPA, certified buildings earn an ENERGY STAR decal, prominently displayed at the building’s entrance, and are listed on the ENERGY STAR website.

Eligibility for ENERGY STAR Certification

To be eligible for ENERGY STAR Certification, buildings must be benchmarked through the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and achieve a score of 75 or higher on a scale of 1–100. This score reflects a comprehensive assessment, adjusting for operating conditions, regional climate data, and other key factors. A wide variety of building types can qualify for an ENERGY STAR score.

Energy Audits & ASHRAE Analysis for Existing Buildings

Whole-building energy simulations, or energy models, are essential tools not only for achieving LEED certification but also for helping project teams evaluate energy reduction strategies that optimize both energy and cost efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. Energy models provide estimates of energy usage for new constructions and renovations based on actual design and occupancy assumptions, allowing a comparison of energy performance against baseline standards, such as ASHRAE 90.1 or equivalent codes.

These analyses guide the optimization of building design and system performance prior to project completion, accommodating complex project requirements and emerging mechanical systems. Additionally, many state and local governments now mandate proof of energy efficiency measures to qualify for grants and tax incentives, making energy modeling a critical step in sustainable building.

Commercial Energy Calculations

Whether you’re constructing a new building or renovating an existing space, Energy and Load Calculations are often required to ensure HVAC systems are properly sized and the project meets current energy efficiency standards in compliance with state energy codes. Our team can seamlessly integrate your project’s energy requirements into a comprehensive sustainability plan. These calculations are essential for permitting and achieving sustainable certification.
